In this introductory workshop, participants will paint big, beautiful blooms in a colorful, abstract fashion. Be inspired by bouquets of real blossoms in the studio while developing and exploring a loose and free painting style. A variety of brushes for painting will be used as well as chalk and oil pastels as we explore mark making, building up several layers and creating your mesmerizing masterpiece. Each participant will leave with a 10x10” finished work on wood. We’ll explore basic layout and composition and the importance of your “voice” in your work.

ABOUT CASEY RASMUSSEN WHITE

Casey Rasmussen White has been a working artist since the age of four, when she decided she was going to BE an artist. She has been an art educator for twenty-two years. She has taught her enjoyable workshops at studios and for corporate events all over the Bay Area. She began as a watercolor artist, absolutely in love with the energy and flow of the unpredictable medium. In addition to watercolor, she offers classes in abstract acrylics, alcohol ink art, paint pouring and mixed media. In any medium, it is the vibrant colors and the excitement and electricity created by intuitive juxtapositions that create a visual feast in her work. They grab and hold your attention. She gets swept away and strays into the exciting and untamed unknown. There she discovers with pure joy, something new, something that never existed before. She truly loves company on this journey. And chocolate. Her work is in many private collections and has been featured in local galleries and in the Somerset Studio Gallery magazine. Casey studied Art and Creative Writing at California State University, Chico.
