OCT 6 // SMARTPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ETSY

60.00

3-5PM

If you are a local maker hoping to use your smartphone to shoot crisp, professional quality photos of your handmade items for Etsy or Ebay, this workshop is for you! Local photographer Grant Kaye guides participants through the lens of a smartphone by sharing his tips on setting up your shot, making your photograph, editing and making your products look great! Participants will meet at Atelier to learn the basics of shooting and editing photographs with the FREE phone app Adobe Lightroom Mobile (which requires a free Adobe Account). We will then work from a predetermined shot and product list, using products borrowed from Atelier. We will make use of available light as well as introduce the use of a table-top light tent. Once the shots are captured, Grant will guide students through the editing process right in the Lightroom App, no computer needed! You'll be on your way to selling your products right from your phone in no time.

ABOUT GRANT KAYE

Hawai`i-born photographer Grant Kaye left a career in volcano geology in New Zealand and relocated to Truckee, California in 2008, where he eventually became a full-time photographer and educator. Grant specializes in landscape and night-sky photography, motion-controlled timelapse, and creative dSLR filmmaking. He loves to teach other people how to achieve their creative photographic vision. Grant joined the Mountain Workshops in Kentucky as their timelapse coach in 2013 and 2014, and he also taught photography at Nevada's Shooting the West Workshops in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Grant is happiest making photographs where the division between technology and art is blurred - pushing the limits of what his gear is capable of to create unique images that evoke the emotional connection everyone has with nature and art, especially when they don't realize it.
