JULY 15 // THE MINDFULNESS OF MIXED MEDIA

105.00

11A - 4P

Do you remember creating something for the pure pleasure of creating? The process of playing with paint was much more rewarding than the end product.  The feel of the paint between your fingers was enough to make you happy.  During the workshop, we focus on many different techniques to help you learn to really listen to yourself. We talk about vulnerability, creation process, self-consciousness, life stressors, and the basic element of breath...all through the painting process. Every level from beginners to advanced can benefit from this class. Beginners find that they really do have artistic ability and advanced artists find new techniques to let their creativity flow!

In this class we will create a mixed media artwork through the process of listening to our intuition.  We will get rid of everything distracting in our monkey brains and learn to learn to really listen to ourselves.  Students will play with paper, paint and pastel while learning about negative space, abstract shapes, and the layering of mixed media. We start the day with exploring shapes in nature and learning about mark making.  We will also learn art journaling techniques to really get the creativity flowing.  By the end of the day, you will go home with multiple projects (including a set of intuition cards) and a finished artwork.

CONSIDER BRINGING, BUT NOT NECESSARY:

NOTE:

About YOLANDA NUSSDORFER

My art has gone through many different fazes and I am forever learning.  I started off as an expressionistic landscape artist out of college and have grown into a mixed media artist.  What media do I mix?  Well, just a little bit of everything.

I love feeling the paint on my hands and watching the colors meld together on the canvas.  I love listening to my heart and painting what it tells me to do.  I love walking along a path and being inspired by what surrounds me.  I love the entire process of creating.

I graduated from Sierra Nevada College with a BFA in Painting and have taught art on and off for 20 years.  Now that my kids are older, I am so excited to be teaching full time.  I live in Phoenix, Arizona and call Lake Tahoe home for the summers.  My little corner of the blogosphere lives at www.inspireandwander.com.
