ABOUT CLAIRE LAWRENSON

Claire uses an active imagination, and a palate of watercolors, to capture the grand vistas and intricate details seen while adventuring in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  She fell in love with plein-air painting while challenging herself to make art outside for 100 days, in an effort to combine her two loves - nature & painting. Initially intimidated by the challenges of painting outdoors, Claire fell in love with the fast pace, and the loose style necessitated by quick sketches done while hiking, kayaking, or from a chairlift. Claire resides in Truckee, and when not making art or enjoying the outdoors, she can be found curled up with a cup of tea, and a good book.
